Description
When I first started taking pics of Dragonflies, I did not know the name of a single species, nor how to tell males from females.
I have gotten much better at gender ID and can now ID(and have gotten photos of) about 18 of the approximately 65 species that are found in my area, but I still have problems.
Part of the problem is because several species in my area have females that look very similar and to make it even more confusing, many young males are colored like the females of their respective species and some mature males look like the females of other species, lol.
This image is of a female Banded Pennant. Tomorrow I will show a male Banded Pennant.
Then I will show you both genders of 2 more species.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.
