Description
I hadn't realized it's been so long since I posted anything. I just hadn't had much heart for doing any artwork since I found out a dear friend of mine comimtted suicide back at the end of April. She lost her husband Bob back in January of 2008 to bone cancer (I dedicated my "Medicine Wheel" to Bob) and she had been so lost and lonely since; just heartbreaking. Now I know why I had to have two horses in that image. Riki and Bob are now together again, and while I miss them both dearly, I will treasure their wonderful spirits forever.
So in trying to re-engage my muse I went browsing through some older unfinished work and found this piece I started about a year ago. He was almost done but I hadn't been totally happy with him. I dusted him off and the pieces just sorta fell together the way I had envisioned. Felt good to be doing some art again.
Anyway I hope you enjoy him!

A lovely piece. Glad to see you are coming back. I believe that the 'time' to leave this world chooses us; often when it is most inconvenient for us and it seems so unfair to those left behind..

How very sad for you to have two friends die so close together, it is no wonder you didn't feel like creating. Sometimes I feel that painting helps though. I love how you have created the mane of this horse he looks so lovely.
