Description
Recall the little picture of my Indigo Bunting the other day? Here it is: Click Here
To make a long story short, this Indigo Bunting has come back each day for the last several days and yesterday even brought his mate with him. She is much more subdued in her coloring. I'll get a picture of her up soon.
Thanks for continuing supporting all my "birding" with your comments and favorites. It is all great for my motivation!
Bill, the Birdman of Leavenworth
P.S. Do you recall the 1962 B&W movie staring Burt Lancaster and Karl Malden, "The Birdman of Alcatraz"? The real character, Robert Stroud, was incarcerated here in Leavenworth before being sent to Alcatraz in California. So, he began his birding right here...with my birds' ancestors. LOL

Beautiful colors :)
Excellent. Wonderful color complement. Funny, you didn't seem to have much in common with that guy, but maybe more than I realized. Hehe.
Super capture, LOVE the color...I know male birds are more colorful than females, is this true here? What color is a female if this is the male?
Handsome fellow and good photo-capture.

Lovely color and great shot!
Nailed him this time...really a pretty bird..none out here on the left coast...
Fantastic capture!!! I remember the movie very well also because the movie was presented at the Venice Movie Festival and Burt Lancaster was awarded with the Volpi Cup as the best actor (and I got an autographed photo from him in the Excelsion Hotel's very exclusive beach).
These birds are electric, fabulous Bill. very interested in the Birdman to as things like that fascinate me. :o)
Wow, lucky you to have him come every day! I'd love to see something like this at my feeder. And "nemesis no more"? Wow. Hope I can say that someday about my blue heron!
Spectacular image! What a wonderful treat to have visitors like this.
SWEEEET SHOT
very nice blue bird!
nice shot, i always think that is a very child's powder-paint shade of blue.
Nice capture, thank you for sharing your birding.
Superb colours, a great one and story. Cheers, Clive
Stellar in all ways photographic, Bill. The colors do emanate an electric quality. I didn't know Robert Stroud started out his birding in Leavenworth. I thought he had done it all in Alcatraz.
Great DOF detail and color Bill.

Nice job on the Indigo....I get them here all during the winter.
He sure is one handsome fellow!!!
