Description
I shot this with slow speed because the light was low; getting to be sunset and this area is in the shadows of cypress trees. The gators made passage ways around the nest so they can watch it better. There is three of them watching. You see here a small one. There is two small ones and a big one which is at the road all the time. You saw her eyes looking at you.
Thought i put this one in to show some of the plants that is around the nest and one of the small gators. Here I learn they team up to watch the nest. i did not know it or read it. Just watching this nest I learned. I do have a photo of the big one eating some of those plants wow but it was all texture looking for the gator rocked back and forth eating the plant. A plant most people which would go away for it do take out air in the water so the fish can not breaths
thanks for looking and comments too.

this on is abvout 5 or 6 feet long. the big one is 8 to 9 feet long
Good to know gators eat that water hyacinth! Now I know what I can suggest to our City Counsel to remedy our problem with that awful plant! but then, I am not sure I can convince them of the benefit of turning gators loose in our delta! LOL I like the action in this from the slow shutter speed.
yes she ate three of them when i was there and she ate them whole
Very cool shot !
Making her line between the threat and the family.
Cool shot jock, love the sense of movement. Sweet!
Great capture Jocko..well taken! Lighting and colors are fantastic :)
He comming to get you Jock...RUN RUNNN :O)
cool foto.
The sense of speed is down-right scary Jock, I hoped you stayed in the truck for this action capture ! I never realised the Gators ate plants as well...far out ! ~Cheers~
Keen POV and effects in this shot of mommy gator fluidly swimming about in protection of her eggs. What a paranoid life these reptiles have to live, day in and day out.
Real scary thoughts goes through ones head here all the time hoping he doesn't get your head lol:: Great capture jocko!~
that is aweosme :)
Great shot, Jock. Those water hyacinths are certainly lush. They look rather nice, but I assume they can also become a nuisance growing in the wrong places.
great action shot!
nice moma crock!!!
She's moving, and I hope not at you, how cool that you just sat and watched and learned some of their ways. The best learning is often not in books.
I don't think I want to do any wading in that water. Nice shot.
A great shot, Jocko and always interesting words!
Fantastic capture :-) I really love how you explained it!!!
