Description
My wonderful feline buddy of twenty years passed away today. Cody, aka The Dude (we nick-named him that after the main character in "The Big Lebowski") got 19 years more than anyone thought he would have, because he came to live with us. Twenty years ago he was on his last day at the Denver Dumb Friends League in Golden, CO because as a kitten he beat up the previous owner's full grown Pomeranian on a regular basis:) Nobody seemed to want this big six month old bruiser. He loved boxing (and I mean he really liked to box!), sleeping with me under the covers on a cold night, piling up on me and blocking the tv set:), and most of all, slurping up the milk left in Dad's cereal bowl. Dude, you will always be loved and much missed.
With him in the pic is his fave toy- he carried it around like a dog in his mouth wherever he went for many years. We buried it with him.

Oh my heart goes out to you and your sweetie... 20 years is a long time for a cat, definity used all his lives and lived a good life with you! My boys all lived to be 17-20 years (the three I made mil cat texturs of)...and so lost them all to illness and age with in the 3-4 year time...but went to our best shelter and got a new tabby to rescue... those are truly the BEST... BIG HUGS OF SYMPATHY!!! I KNOW there is a kitty heaven!

I am so sorry for the loss of Dude. Our pets do tend to worm their way into our hearts and take a piece of it with them when they go, but he lived a long happy life with you and I hope that gives you some comfort. Beautiful picture to remember him by.
I'm so sorry to hear that your long time feline buddy passed away. I know how hard that is. My cat was over 20 when she died a year ago and I haven't had the heart to get another cat yet. I suppose I will eventually, but she was so special it's hard to imagine another kitty in her place.
I just happened to see the image and read the sad story behind it; I'm feeling very sad for your miss (we have a proud 2 years female cat with us and fear the day she'll eventually leave us). Rest in peace, Cody
Aw, this is so sweet and sad. I'm sure you'll always think about your precious kitty and remember him forever. I still remember all the cats I've had and lost over time. A lovely tribute to him.
