Description
Final in this series, just starting.
Driving along Thistle Road 'something' caught my eye, so we had to have a look see. The dark area is a retaining wall. Possibly a retaining wall, doh!, or remains of a foundation. The odd thing was the splash of pink color. Mrs. Weesel hit it: it's the remains of someone's garden. The rest of the woods are brown and green. The only place we've seen this color (magnolia?) is in the yards of people living around here. They don't just jump into the middle of a state park.
Well, I could continue with more images, but I have some interesting side trips and a new series in mind: Recycled Country... bring your credit cards!
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
BTW: I did not plan for any of these to suggest anything creepy, but that's the way it goes, eh?

Dear TW, "Recycled Country - bring you credit cards?" That sounds scarier that the haunted seminary!! It's always interesting the things that you find if you LOOK for them. One of the highways I drive frequently near Austin has been widened and straightened a number of time, but if you look, you will see tiny stretch of the original highway out in fields or still used to deliver mail to a house that was on the main drag 50 or os years ago. Excellent work!!! Love, Meredith
it is neat coming upon an eyecatching piece of scenery that screams for a photo...it's only bad when you don't have a camera around at the time!
wonderful trees in this capture! looks almost untouched! impressive place! ;o)
The tangled branches really brings out the ruggedness of the picture, very nice
