Description
First detour: Leakin Park, Balamer, MD. This is the site of the track for CALS: Chesapeake and Allegheny Live Steam. Second Sunday of every month in warm weather, the Iron Ponies, and their diesel and electric buds, come out to play.
(I was going to call this The Rides of Spring, but I'd be the first person to be beaten up by a dead composer. A month earlier and it would have been . . . wait for it... The Rides of March!)
Not much running this first day, but this little Pacific was putting on a grand show. The official speed limit is 6 mph, but I was having a dickens of a time keeping them in focus on the curve into the station. The open mouths of the passengers told a story too.
Anyhow, here's a web site for folks who may be interested. Yes, we will see a few more of these before we move on to . . .

BTW: look at the .pdf version if you can. It's a newsletter with images, etc. )
Enjoy; have a good read and thanks for viewing.

good looking train
a fine looking minature locomotive!! :]
Very nice photos and locomotive! Excellent shots!!!
Dear TW, some gorgeous shots and you know what a fool I am for trains. This one is beautifully crafted! Most are hand built (owner built) and an immense amout of time, dedication, and love go into it. Really neat and looks like a lot of fun! AND the Rides of March? A2TW ;-) Excellent work!! Love, Meredith PS More Trains!!
fantastic colored and lighted impressions! love loks you know! great fun for children! ;o)
How great is this. Are these real (obviously miniature) steam engines? Great subject and shots.
