Description
The thing on all of Mars that Des likes most to do is strato-sailing. Therefore, her favorite duty is being assigned as courier pilot by the Martian Exploration Service. The flights of the small solar-powered craft often take Des halfway around Mars over routes that no other human has flown. Since the stratosphere of Mars is thinner and lower than the Earth's, she cruises at a lower altitude than she would, if flying a similar craft on Earth. While on such flights, Des sees sights that she suspects only she has seen this close, for there is much of Mars that even the Service hasn't reached from the ground. Since one of the major responsibilities of the MES is to scout out land routes through the rough, jumbled Martian terrain, Des tries to keep an eye out for possible routes, marking their locations in her holo log. Here, she is following a valley that most likely was carved out by volcanic activity, rather than some ancient flood of water.

Terrain modeled by me in Bryce TE from a European Space Agency picture, which is also the source of the ground textures.
Dusty Martian sky is a new one created by me in in Bryce Sky Lab.
Des is a P5 Judy character morphed by me in Poser Face lab.
Strato-sail is the "Hight Altitude Sail" modeled and textured by draculaz; although, I re-textured the canopy and added the holo instruments and the four "Scifi seats," which were modeled by Joe Kurz.
Thanks for looking!

Nicely done,..........love the Martian atmosphere.
Very nice explanation of a detailed design. I like the hex pattern on the sails. With a less dense atmosphere, though, wing surfaces would actually need to be larger than those on earth to provide the same amount of lift -- unless this is futuristic anti-grav technology, I guess. Many actual NASA concept craft for Mars also involve balloon/dirigibles for aerial exploration.
Fantastic Work of Art !!! Excellent and Vote!!
Cool concept Like the whole compo Pretty sharp render
An excellent model
Yes, servo is correct about the sail size in relation to the thinner atmosphere of Mars. However, I just couldn't resist such a neat model. Texturing as well as the actual model are the work of draculaz, remember. Don't want to take credit for other people's work. I envisioned the sails as more a source of energy, rather than as lifting bodies.
A VOTE - of course. And added to my Fav images. This is a prime example of what makes Jeremy head and shoulders above the average "assembler" of others work. Extreme eye for detail & credits where due... :-)
Very good composition, fantastic Landscape, cool pov ... fine detail the texture on the vehicle could be a bit richer but thats a matter of taste a vote from me too
Excellent concept.
like that ship super job
