Fingers rest
upon the oracle
on top of the Ouija board
We take a sharp inhaled breath
Slowly as it starts
to glide~
The oracle,it moves
slides fast
towards me~
A question is asked
the reply is right
As the white candle burns low
this ghostly night~
Nerves are hig
Can this be real?
Can the spirit board tell us
What we want to know
or feel~
It spells out foggy things
Unclear...
But was there a spirit
really here~
The mysterious
mystifies the mind
Can the truth be fake?
Or was the answer
Only in our mind~
For the truth is not always
revealed
Don't play this game
with too much zeal~
It can bring down our defenses
tear a man apart
It can even destroy
one's beating heart~
( Found my old Ouija Boards at moms I used to play with as a teen and was always in awe at what answers I got from the board...

Mom is back in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure, shortness of breath,a URI, and low blood count I have had a severe migraine and had to go to ER earlier tonight myself, but I am feeling better now..Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers)

First, and foremost, PEACE to you and your mom. -- Next, I remember it well. Also remember the old, black and white ''8'' ball. All just stupid 'superstitions'(knock on wood). GRIN. (Is your ouija board worth any money on EBAY, etc.?). Just ask 'it' how much you should sell it for. Would be curious what 'it' says. WINK. V o t e. (made me feel 'young' again - thanks).

Quiji boards always freak me out a lot, after hearing some strange stories. Sorry to hear your mom is back in the hospital and that you had to go as well. I hope life gets better for you soon and that you and her are feeling ship-shape in no time...
Quija boards are simply a means to communicate with your subconscious. But you may be suprised what skeletons lay in the back of ones mind.. Love your poem Susan.. Wish I could do more in regards to you and your mom. Best wishes anyway!! Hugs... Dave :^)
Susan, your writing is as always pure masterpeice,but My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to your Mom, and to yourself, in hope that all will get better. I am sorry for my leave of absence here, and I have missed so much, but it is good to see that through it all you are still writing, as your skills are so awsome. Awesome poem! I'm sorry about your mom hon..and I had a migrain all yesterday.. and you know how you have to calm down to get rid of most of the pain.. well I reached for my water and the TV blew up.. just plain blew up..for no reason. Well my heart just beat a mile a second which only made the head worse..I tell you hon, I would have gone for the shot had I not already taken my pills..which didn't work.. so I had to suffer..and man.. I'm just glad I lived to read your poem..you know how it goes.. migrains are the pits.

Having been part of a parapsychological study group and investigator I have come to understand that 'doors' between realms can be opened up, and the board is one of them. It's not the 'board' per se. You can use a piece of paper with the alphabet penciled on it and still get the same result. It doesn't just plumb one's subconscious--not if the question being answered is one asked by another not on the board and the answer is only known to that person. Studies have proven this. Caution is a word I strongly recommend to anyone attempting to communicate with other realms, not just the dimension of the 'dead'...do not open up what you don't have the knowledge or strength to close! I sincerely hope for the best outcome for your mom!

Another well-crafted poem. This brought back a memory. I was the culprit in the group that "helped" the board speak after discovering I could easily bring it to answer the questions folks were answering. The odd thing was, no one every wondered why the board only seemed to work when I was part of the experiment. :O)
