Description
This is a mated pair of eagles I've known for several years. The female is the larger of the two, and here is higher in the tree. Eagles mate for life, and not until after their fifth year. It is usually in the fifth year the adults get the white head and tail. It is not unusual to see a nest where the young are fed by three white heads, the third being an unmated offspring of the pair. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

Totally awesome Image you captured here. Thanks for the info, about the unmated offspring, I didn't know that.
Great capture, I would love to get a shot of something like this, oh one day maybe! They look so cute for predators.

The Zoooooooooooooom is serving You well Dear Friend...You now soar....where Eagles Dare . Did You Pay Cash for this Zooooooooooooooooooooom....or did You get it on Higher Perches?
I'm in awe, Tedz. I was raised in a family that revered the art of the pun. You are now an honorary Dubois. My sincere congratulations, not on being saddled with us, but for Higher Perches. That, sir, is a work of art.
PERFECT!!!
wow, Jim your new Zoom is a hit. * vote * !!!!!!! #:O) !!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous zoom shot....perched mighty & proudly. The one on the left seems a little heavy!! You got my vote!!!! Excellente
Magnificent shot and magnificent birds. Looks like you are making great use of your new camera.
@ LostPatrol...i think Jim will concur...the bald eagle isn't a predator but rather a scavenger like the vulture. still doesn't stop them from being beautiful though. my favorite bird for that matter. super work Jim!!! and the notes with it taught me a lot i didn't know. :-) just as cool.
Awesome!!!!
