This is the one "Bigfoot-style" cryptid that I have trouble believing in. While the legend of the Yeti is over 3500 years old, its the statistics that say it can't really exist. Said to move back and forth from lower to higher elevations according to the seasons, it's most popular sightings have it at high elevations during the dead of winter. But with that said, there just isn't enough food at those heights! Even if it was a pure carnivore, there aren't enough animals to support such a large creature at those temps. And for those that say it comes down into the valleys to eat, the Himalayan mountains are surrounded by over 50 million people! Meaning that an eight-foot tall, bright-white creature would be too easily seen. So this is a creature born of Buddhist religious beliefs and local folklore, at least in my opinion.
