I must admit I hadn't associated the young lady with Little Red Riding Hood. She looks too big to be little. :-)

Seinen Augen folgend wage ich zu behaupten, daß er die Zaehne fuer jemanden fletscht, der sie bedroht oder fuer sie gefaehrlich sein koennte, denn sie schaut ja auch zu jemandem hin. Er schaut jedenfalls definitiv an ihr vorbei. Beide haben die Kinderschuhe abgelegt und scheinen Freundschaft geschloßen zu haben, gefaellt mir absolut :)

great comment from nena...I thought of the wolf having grown up, and now he's an even bigger threat. But yeah---she's staring at something out of frame, and so is he-----like so much of your work, you capture questions and mysteries as much as answers; always consummately done. (You could call this, "little red riding hood, years later". "Rotkäppchen---viele Jahre später"---see, I'm slowly learning Deutsch. w/ all the translation you do, it's only fair...)

I used to wonder what the Grimms would think if someone did an "update" on their collection. "Rapunzel und Pinocchio: Eine skandalöse Affäre". (Or, ala hollywood: "Rapunzel and Pinocchio: The SEQUEL" w/ pics of the two of them on the beach, while the waves roll over them..."the steamy version of R and P, as you've never seen it before!") Great job on her eyes too, and the wolf's expression. (It's been an upside-down weekend, but I'll get to chapter 3 of the submarine soon.) Another fine image from you.

And I’m already getting some pretty wild images in my head again. Rapunzel and Pinocchio? First, they’re lying on the beach; waves are rolling over them, Rapunzel’s hair gets tangled on a rock, while Pinocchio staggers around in the surf like a piece of driftwood. Oh boy... help... my mind is conjuring up even more images...

Just imagine the movie is rated 18+. The two of them in an erotic scene later on: Pinocchio is lying on his back, and Rapunzel walks in, covered only by her hair. She leans close to his face and says, "Now lie to me!" laughs Oh boy... these images... :D

I wrote a piece (years back) where Rapunzel hadn't seen anyone in months, and the Prince came, and cried: "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" And she let it down, and buried half of Europe. It's a pitiful tale, but I like that it took Europe till the late Renaissance to get unburied...there's a lot of potential in those tales!

laughs I'd love to read this version of Rapunzel sometime :D
