well, speaking of "paper planes"...it's actually a poignant piece, setting free a dream...and, with all the gulls, one almost gets the sense that the man created them too...but more likely it's what you wrote above: that he never became a pilot, but he still has dreams of flying...inner or outer flying...Very poignant with a gentle twist of humor. As always, very well done.

Dreams were meant to be set free, whether you accomplished them or not. I have a few dreams that I am unwilling to let go of until I make them become a reality...now its just a race that I don't run out of time before I make them a reality since time is not infinite. The closer one get to the end, the harder one has to work to make their dreams happen! :)
The way I see it, life is good when all your dreams come true except for one. Because that last one should always serve as an incentive to strive for something :)

That young nerd designing that paper plane could be this old man, assuming the date in this image is about 2060. The young nerd, who could be 18 yrs old in the year 2003 when flat panel monitors began selling, would make this old man 75 yrs old;-)
