Hello dear friends,
This felt like a very special gift.
Last Tuesday I went for a walk very early in the morning in the field nearby.
Everything there now is extremely dry so almost no flowers.
And suddenly this Swallowtail landed before me on a dried clover.
Thank you very much for your visit, and I hope you enjoy.
Sorry, no more words from me, the heat stole all my energy while 'surviving'.

Beautiful. Except white ones there are very few butterflies here, even when in a "normal" year.
Yes, there are also few butterflies here, although on our butterfly bush we saw a number of admiral butterflies every day, the hummingbird butterfly and also the swallowtail.

Hi Jacomina. I'm sorry it took me so long to get to your most recent uploads. This is a real 'prize'---something that you shot at exactly the right time. The dried clover looks like a strange meal---like some meat that's been cooked a long time. The detail on the swallowtail's face is amazing---we can see its "fur". And the wings are like stained glass. I guess, for a butterfly, this is a big meal. Beautiful capture. After reading your wonderful poems and contemplating your amazing fractals and your drawings and paintings, you remind us that you're a deeply inspired photographer too. Beautiful.
ps---in your comment on my "dancer"---yes, I posted it months ago, maybe twice (lol---I don't remember). And yes, it could be a male or female---I never thought about that. The original photo is a female, but she's dressed in a way that isn't clear. I loved your thought of "liberty" (like the statue of liberty, and someone reaching out for liberty). Thank you so much, Mark! Lol about a meat that's been cooked a long time; I hope I don't look like this, because once again we have such high temperatures for the last days. And I went again to the same field with my camera, still almost no flowers, but I spotted a hummingbird, and a couple of Clouded yellow, both are very rare here. And lol, I'm very rare to (at the moment), my face is bright red, like a beetroot.
Yes I like your dancer, your drawing (painting) has so much power and I wish it were true, that it could bring peace from heaven to earth. We can only pray for that.
