Description
This took up my entire evening.
It's the Poser freebie that 3D Classics generously gave away in December 2025, the Chevrolet Nomad from 1957. I exported it as a Wavefront Object file from Poser, scaled to 249%, then imported it into Blender with no scaling. This gives items the proper real-world scale, provided they were the proper size in Poser. Then I went through every material and set them up manually. Blender's Wavefront Object importer does kind of OK with imported material settings, but the manual set up process does produce better results. I made the 1965 style Arizona plate for it, since it is going to be used in a story set in that year.
I'll rig it properly in Blender tomorrow. I have an automated script in Blender that can rig a vehicle in a fraction of a second, you just have to name all the parts first according to it's conventions so it knows which part of the vehicle is which. Great stuff, it reduces rigging a car to five minutes or so, sometimes less.

Nice.
I agree about the materials. I have, over the years, imported a number of vehicles to Bryce and in just about all cases, I have re-textured them for better results. :-)
Yes, manual work on the materials always produces better results than the automatic imports, whatever 3D application you're using. Thanks for the comment.
OOOOOHHHHHH!!!!! I am in LOVE!!
What a beauty you have here, good sir! I even love the color!
If things here ever settle down to something that vaguely resemble normal, I'd like to start fiddling around with Blender.
Blender rewards every second spent on it, so go for it I'd say! Nice to see you here too.
Oh, and if you were here in December when the freebies were being doled out, you may have this in your Renderosity account, so do check!
cool 57! this i could drive over the midgets.
Well that comment made me laugh! Not sure who the midgets are or why you would want to run them down, but hey it's a varied world...
