Here's a preview of the Western Flycatcher (nicknamed the "Pacific Slope") from my next bird set, "Characters v4". This flycatcher is native to the western North America, where it breeds in the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Coast forests and mountain ranges from California to Alaska and south to central Mexico; northern populations migrate south to Mexico for the winter. It inhabits either coniferous or deciduous forests. In its range, it enters mixed woods, Douglas fir forests, redwood forests, pine-oak forests, and many other wooded environments including riparian woodlands. The preferred breeding habitat is usually near running water. It’s a small nondescript greenish flycatcher that is very difficult to identify, hence its name, "Empidonax difficilis". Its best distinguished from other flycatchers in the genus Empidonax by voice and range. It does frequent my garden during migration.
