Another butterfly from my upcoming volume 4 set... This endangered Butterfly is Mitchell's Satyr Butterfly. It found in the eastern United States. It is a small brown butterfly with a wingspan rage of 1.3-1.7 inches (34–44 mm). Its larvae can feed upon the highly-invasive Japanese stilt grass. Populations of this butterfly are potentially at risk from efforts to remove invasive stilt grass, which is now its primary food source. Originally, its caterpillars fed on other grasses, but human activity disrupted and fragmented their habitat so the butterfly adapted.
