Description
"Scotland? What are we hoping to see in Scotland?" I asked Dave.
"Relaxing scenery, fresh air, friendly folks to mingle with, and the celebration of my grandmother's 100th birthday which is tomorrow."
10 thousand miles and about an hour later we re-entered the atmosphere, landed at granny's house and spent the next 3 days in some good company with good food and plenty of laughter.

But what about the sweet music of the bagpipes early Mornings that chase away the sleeps from your eyes. Oh did I say sweet sorry

Well, If you need to wake up early, the bag pipes will definitely do the trick!

Great moody place, glad you got to visit.

Thanks, Lyla!

A dark moody place for a good time. At 100 I would think that she would get lost in that big house. Today is my Birthday. I turned 80, but don't have a house like this. It would be too hard to keep clean. - Bob

Happy birthday, Bob!
And Dave's granny is not alone -- plenty of other grand-kids, their parents and cousins keep her company:-)

Well, that sounds like a really great way to spend part of that vacation! And what a gorgeous place! Wow!
Beautiful work on this!

Thanks, Rod.
But I forgot to light-up at least one of the windows to make it look more alive, even though it's 4AM and everyone is sleeping;-)

That's a great castle near the ocean, and for sure defying weather and time - like Dave's grandma! At a moment, just before we went in Antarctica, I wondered if Dave didn't find a stargate there lolllll

love castles --- it comes from the Irish side --- very nice

Thanks Jazzie! Lots of castles all over Europe - heck, I was born right under one.

I'm pretty sure I don't even want to encounter whatever grandma keeps in her creepy basement and considers entertainment =(

LOL. My dad actually had this huge old iron key for an ancient lock to a massive 4-inch thick door leading to a 'Frankensteinish' cellar built in the 1830's, and what he had down there was a cozy wood shop full of nice wood, hand tools and a pleasant woody aroma.

So your saying your pap spent his free time sequestered behind a heavy bolted door fiddling with his wood in an unfiltered fog of fermenting wood fumes for fun ...not weird at all I'm sure ... or should I say knot weird =P

Hahaha! .... funny-bunny!
After the great war my pap became a cabinet maker - a good one too. And he kept his shop locked when he wasn't in there working. About 2 decades ago they turned that creepy cellar into a disco night club - kinda sad and awesome at the same time. (smell of fresh wood brings back nice memories of what exists no more)
