Another butterfly, this time from my upcoming set, "Butterflies of the World Vol. 2: Swallowtails". I think Bhutan Glory is one of the more striking butterflies, in an already "striking" set. Also, it shows the shape diversity within the swallowtail family. Bhutan Glory is, not surprisingly, found in Bhutan, as well as parts of northeastern India and of Southeast Asia. It flies from 5,000 to 9,000 feet (1,500 to 2,700 m) in its Indian range. It generally keeps to the ridges rather than the valleys. It favors plants in the Aristolochia family (Dutchman's Pipe). The Bhutan Glory has been considered to be "rare" and is protected under law in India, however enforcement is poor. Habitat loss due to excessive felling of forests may be a significant threat regionally.
