As Jorl predicted, the Golem gave up the chase at the entrance of the crypt, just as it had in the past. The next morning the odd couple and their new friend, Sir Squeaker, traveled to visit the Wizard Ludovich and his dragon. "We got yer payment an' more, Wizard!" Jorl stated. The king's golden broadsword glittered in his left hand. "We understand you have a particular interest in this amulet," Sir Squeaker added from his perch on Jorl's head. "It's submission to you removes my gruff colleague's debt. What sort of consideration might you give for the sword and the King's crown?" "I'll hate to part with this crown," the cat girl said. "It suits me, I think!" The Wizard nodded. "Indeed it does, young one. If you can stand to part with the crown, I feel that we can come to a mutually satisfactory accommodation for that and the broadsword. Perhaps I can suggest some other odds and ends for you to acquire and trade with me." Jorl grinned. "Now yer talkin'!" "You know you have a rat on your head, right?" the Dragon ventured. Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029 with Superfly Cycles 2 and tweaked in Photoshop for a bit of glow (spectral bloom) and vignette. The Catgirl is based on A3. Jorl is by Sixus1. The Wizard is based on M4. The Dragon is a figure from DAZ. The Wizard's abode is by BlueTreeStudio.

The last line had me cracking up!

MollyFootman 11:30AM | Mon, 10 October 2022

I'm glad it got you giggling. I was certainly giggling when it occurred to me. I feel like the Dragon is a very concrete thinker and maybe a bit on the spectrum if you will. XD

Sounds like they're going to go off on another treasure-hunting adventure! Great characters and scene! A rat on the head is worth two in the pantry ...

MollyFootman 11:31AM | Mon, 10 October 2022

I'm glad you would look forward to more from the Odd Couple plus one. =)

I will be finished with this chapter of their adventures with one or two more pictures, I think.

Very cool! Such a great storyline!

Thanks, Annie. I'm sure you have figured out that I love a good story (or even a bad one, come to that)! XD

"You know you have a rat on your head, right?" 😂🤣

I am soooo gonna use that sometime! I'm still giggling.. This is great, Molly! I'm looking forward to the next page!

MollyFootman 11:34AM | Mon, 10 October 2022

Thanks, Rod. The idea of the Dragon being such a concrete thinker came to me after I'd pretty much finished the post and I was giggling myself when I typed in his effort to be conversational. XD

Great light and balance, and I like the droll dragon. Great touch to put squeake on the smae eye level as the wizard. I like the circling raptors too. Are they done in a PS brush?, in which case it might be worth tweaking it a little so that you don't end up with too many identical silhouettes; also reflecting/rotating so the birds heads are in a more natural orientation (mostly the 4 on the right that seem to be looking skywards).

MollyFootman 11:36AM | Mon, 10 October 2022

Thanks, Joe. I really appreciate such detailed feedback. The raptors are a bit of content from another set and are really simple images on little planes. They come in groups and I think maybe the solution you suggest would have been a better way to go. =)

The Dragon's effort to be conversational was my favorite bit of the writing, too. XD

The dragon's line made it all come together. Dragons must be snarkers. Must.

MollyFootman 2:41PM | Mon, 17 October 2022

Heh. This Dragon is just kind of literal. I view him as being a very concrete thinker without much experience of social behavior. XD

I love how you framed this shot to include the main characters as well as the very top of the wizard's house! I'm kind of surprised that Jori would accept whatever the wizard might offer for the shiny treasures, as it doesn't appear the wizard has the kind of wealth that might make a suitable trade for such treasures. But perhaps he has heaps of gold hidden away under the tower! Or perhaps something else Jori prizes more highly than gold? A fun way to bring their adventures to a close (while leaving the door open for further adventures, if you decide you're not quite done with these characters yet! ;-)

MollyFootman 2:43PM | Mon, 17 October 2022

As an adventurer who is not ready to settle down, Jorl prizes gold but is happy to have some patronage of a wizard (even if the spells don't always work out quite as planned). =)

I expect I'll return to these characters but I'm ready to give them a rest (although I have one more picture in mind for this bit of their story).
