They gazed at the binary star system. "To Infinity..." Flare murmured.
Behind them, two male members of the crew of Pegasus bickered. "I don't see why we have to wear bulky pressure suits and they have those light weight, comfie togs!" Complained one. "Eh, you'd look pretty creepy dressed like that," replied his companion.
Molly's art notes: This piece is only about 3 years old: a bit of retro science fiction cheese cake. =) It was set up and rendered in Poser 11.3 Pro using the venerable Firefly rendering engine and then tweaked a bit in Photoshop. From left to right the girls are:
Mai Tommorow - based on erogenesisCGI's incredible Project Evolution
Sirena Starstriker - based on La Femme from Renderosity and included with Poser
Flare Lightspeed - based on Bella from Mankahoo
Mai's outfit is Suzy Moonbeam available at Renderosity for V4. Sirena's outfit is Rocket Queen for V3 (I don't know where my husband, Michael, got it years ago). Flare's outfit is Spacegal available at Renderosity. The grumpy guys in the background are low rez figures from P3DA available at DAZ. The Pegasus is also from DAZ, I think.

There must be an atmosphere wherever they are. Not breathable but there is one otherwise Mai and Flare would be dead.
Heh. There you go, requiring a humorous picture to abide by physical and biological principles! XD I certainly agree that Mai and Flare have the least practical and protective suits on. Probably the only realistic gear is on the two hapless astronauts in the background. =)

Definitely got that 60s pulp sci-fi retro poster vibe going on...great looking characters, first class work, lighting and render..!
Thanks! The Firefly rendering engine is less physically accurate than the Superfly Cycles 2 engine that I am using more these days but I thought this came out well. I certainly meant it to be a humorous comment on the difference between female and male attire in classic pulp science fiction (still very prevalent in the '60s) and it seems to me you enjoyed my joke! =)

Excellent retro scene and it's nice to see the female crew members made it out of the space capsule first, as they will most likely make a better welcoming committee, if they meet any aliens, as opposed to the grumpy guys. My only worry, is that if there is not enough air pressure on that planet, the blood in the veins, in their exposed legs, may boil and explode.

I'm glad you enjoyed my humorous observation with regard to female and male attire in a lot of the classic science fiction media. =) It cracks me up that females are often so sexualized and males relegated to more practical costuming. ;-P I certainly had fun exaggerating that in this picture.

Fun bit of retro sci-fi cheesecake! That's not a genre I've ever tried, but you seem to have a lot of fun with it :-) Great characters!
Oh, I love classic golden age pulp fiction (science fiction and detective) and the lurid covers of the magazines are hilarious fun. Emphasizing the impractical and revealing outfits for the female characters here had me cackling like a maniac. XD

To anyone worrying about the effects of space on these lovely ladies, I think it's safe to say that anyone who makes OR uses outfits like these is not exactly aiming for "scientific accuracy"! These are pinup gals, after all :-)

Thanks Paul! =) If only there was a thin, but breathable atmosphere on Mars, dinosaurs in the jungles of Venus, etc., etc. Now "harder" science fiction like that book and resulting movie "The Martian" are great, too, but I love me some pulp.... XD
There are a couple of levels of satire and nostalgia here that resulted in some of my commentators feeling compelled to comment about the consequences of the vacuum of space like explosive decompression... >.< Oh well. Teh Mollz is a big girl and can handle a bit of "mansplaining". XD
