Description
Serayes decided to walk through the Park on her way to work this morning and discovered the new Hop Scotch board on the walkway. She couldn’t resist giving it a try. She remembered drawing this pattern on the sidewalk of her home when she was a girl using pink chalk. A simple game that kept her occupied for hours. Now, for just a few moments, she is that little girl again.

I said I'd complete my comments, and I'm back! (I know that's not earth-shaking news, but what the heck...) I love the story here, and Serayes is perfect for your description: She looks like someone who did this when she was young, and is privately having a ball doing it now. Your hopscotch numbers are really white, which makes them pop off the screen. And the rest of the scene is subdued summer stuff---a beautiful composition, Teri. She's in coordinated bright and dark pinks (more like crimson), and I love that purse or boom box, or whatever it is---it looks like something from a 1950s sci fi show. A really descriptive image. Beautifully done.
(a few years back---true story---I was with some friends and their grandkids, and we walked past a hopscotch drawing on the sidewalk; and one of the kids asked me to hop...so I did: I fell flat on my face. If wanted to feel old, I did. I couldn't get up, my friends had to pick me up, and I asked if it was ok if I crawled under a rock for the rest of the week. I assured them that I exercise every day ((i do!)), but they just muttered "pituful, just pitiful..." And Serayes might be doing this in heels! Ay ay ay...)
