Description

An old photo near home...It's a zoom-shot, so it's soft...but I liked the mother on her phone while pushing her son, and the strange diagonals...just some motherly connection in a difficult time... My sister has cancer---it's official---and is preparing for more intensive treatment. (She's had it a few times by now, and each time takes more out of her.) At the same time, I'm finishing a legal document which I'd like to finish another time (given my sister's condition), but I can't put it off. So I'm still here on and off---but I've commented on most of you now, and will get to the rest of you this week. My dedis are half done, and I'll finish them this month. It's just one of those times...And with covid making a new and very unwelcome return, I'm trying to stay healthy as I can. Keep safe, wear masks when around others, and I hope you're all well. Thank you for coming by: It's greatly appreciated! I'll be here whenever I can (though I see everything). Have a safe and beautiful July, and take care of yourselves! mark ------------------

This is such a lovely candid capture, Mark. The monotone works well, and I really do like how the lighting is playing off the mom and son...

I am so sorry to hear about your sister's condition--was really hoping the news would be better. I am a cancer survivor and know how much it takes out of someone both emotionally and physically. She's fortunate to have you for emotional support.

I like the contrasts in this photo. Mother and child, vertical and slant, wood and metal, organic leaves and man-made surfaces. The coloring ties it all together nicely. The sunlight on Mama makes her glow. This is a sweet slice of every day life.

I'm sorry for your sister's news. May treatment be successful as she fights again. I'll be thinking good thoughts for her, and you, as you help her through this. Take care, Mark, stay safe and healthy from the crazy things the world is throwing at us.

Sorry to hear of your sister. he All my best wishes.

This is a spectacular image. The monochrome treatment is perfect. You caught the perfect moment; mom on the phone, the daughter having a ball. We the bond is there, but mom's attention is divided and we wonder who's so important that her attention is drawn away from her little girl. Great job.

This is such a lovely photo, Mark. The sunny light and wonderful monochrome give this the look of much more carefree times.

I'm so sorry for the news abut your sister - she and you are in my prayers, my friend. It's a tough thing to deal with, especially with the added stress of the legal stuff. Sending my thoughts and healing vibrations your way for both of you. Stay safe, buddy.

Oh yes, stark light and dark contrast really pops this one our, and coupled with various geometric forms makes this a fine capture, Mark. And sorry to read of your sister and her repetitive battle with cancer. I'm hoping that modern medicine/technology will finally put this repeatedf struggle to rest, with your sister regaining her health.

I like this picture in the way that there is movement, care and absence in one - something we mothers know, sometimes there is other things important an handle the little ones is going apart, nothing wrong it its not always... superb toning and angle my friend, you are a great peoples photographer. - so sad about your sister and its so sad for you because you can just give support in a mental way I think. best for you and family in every sense! ... and sorry for wrong sense of worths if there are... i think you understand my kind of writing

Another sweet photo. But I think that mother should pay more attention to the child :) I still have your sister in my mind and wishes, dear Mark.
