I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

Damn can't even make one little elixir of life without Murphy and His Law messing crap all up! .... Most awesome work on the images Bro! Very compelling bit of story telling...
really awesome work! the story is great, too!
This is such stunning artwork, love this story telling images dear Rod!
Great story!!
Wonderful imagery!
A nice little twist, Rod. I can't wait to see page 3. Beautiful art.
Oh this sounds good!!!... I can't wait to read more of this, don't tell me this evil dude is still around now!! this sounds like some bad news for the girls... I just hope they can take care of this!!
Wow, yikes, so that's how evil is born. Good work on the effects throughout this whole chapter. The glowing eyes and smoke in the last panel is freaky. Good job!
Elixir of life? Should be interesting if V Soth can end up succeed on it. But looks like he made an error. Your panels are just jawdropping with mega art talent from you Rod. Lots of terrific fx, dig his eyes.
I love it a lot !!!
You really capture the mood for this story here! Love all aspects of it! Way to go, Rod! Many fine kudos!
My heavens! What a fantastic creation...great story line and the graphics rock big time...all the while I was thinking about the evil one in the WH :) Can't escape the creep. Look forward to your next installment...
I like the choice of camera angles in these shots. Poser---at least to me---seems like it does a better job of night-lighting, but I'm only saying so based on seeing other peoples' work. What do you think, Rod?
I also like that first line in the last panel: "V'Soth ceased to be human, and became something else.
Something evil."
Very effective and brief, but also strong and hard-hitting. I always wonder how people decide what to write in graphic novel or comic pages, since you don't have the luxury of an entire page to write on. So, it would seem, word choice (or maybe word economy) is a whole other ball game.
poser does do a really good job on night scenes (these were all done with Poser Pro 2014), but it does take some fiddling. I used a combination of distant lights and point lights (point lights for the lightning illumination, lampposts and candles in the alchemy lab.
I've done some playing with the lights in DAZ as well, and have had some pretty decent results with it, although they do operate a little differently than in Poser.
The actual story text was written some time ago, but with the idea of splitting it into manageable chunks for each of the panels. Even so, it's a process of seeing what works and what doesn't when assembling the pages in Photoshop. Believe me, there was some last-minute editing going on! 😁 Thanks for the comments!
Great job on those evil eyes
Wow what sensational graphic story! I'm sure it's very time-consuming. Super job on everything from the scenes to the story and the effects. Just wonder if you do a storyboard before you do your scenes to visualize your work? This kind of work can go on for a very long time if you want. Excellent!
I've not used storyboards - at least not often. I generally have a pretty good idea of how I want the scenes to look, and the camera angles I want to use. Since I'm my own Art Department (LOL), I don't really need them to communicate what I'm looking for, but I have a time or two scribbled a couple quick things on a scrap of paper.
Great extraordinary story, excellent light and color!!!👏👍🖐
This is looking fantastic!
Not the role of a good guy this time lol!!! Very cool scene and story RodS!!!
Absolutely an excellent creation !!!!!
V'Soth doesn't really sounds like a french name but it's an excellent name for a villain for sure !! ( V'Soth sounds a bit like a Lovecraft's Entity name ) Great work, Rods, for this second page of the Prologue ! All the images are very well created and the four last panels are really impressive. Lighting and effects are terrific ! The story is captivating and promises a great chapter 7 !
Whoa! Great story and graphics...Excellent job!
This is wonderful my friend :)
Fantastic page !
a real explosion of a chapter, and you end leaving us wondering what in the world will follow...how will V'Soth enter into your chapter? Will he be a tragic figure (he was cast into evil by external circumstance...or maybe he's responsible because he played with powers well beyond his ken...he "flew too close to the sun," as they say. So much mystery in his history! "This and all your other questions will be answered...be patient, my children...")
Where did you ever come up with this medieval narrative? I'd have never guessed it before you plunged into it! I love that you've done it. And you've done it, jack, I mean you're committed: You can't back down---your fans will storm your castle with huge wooden beams. Your visuals are perfect---looks like you worked hard on getting those heavy contrasts of blasting lights and deep shadows. I know NOTHING of 3D (though your dialogue with a few commenters explained a lot to me). All I know is photography---ISO's, the little creeps---that when one uses high ISO's w/ a camera, one better have a great camera or else they'll get grain like nobody's business: Does that even apply in Poser? Regardless, you got deep shadows but real definition in your background forms. And your use of blasting light is genuinely cinematic. (And perfect orange for the font.) Also, clever work putting that inserted image into the 3d frame, but you always do that well.
And that ending! (Ok, your next installment should be the June Taylor dancers---throw everybody a curve...they'll start a riot...) Love the green and oranges on V'Soth's face. ( V'Soth? is such a pregnant name---it whets our appetites! And the light on his face in the last frame is really evil.) Great job on this, Rod. I love that you're digging back into all kinds of history. These prologues have been terrific.
(I was going to finish catching up with your images, but I've been called away. I'll get to them tomorrow.) ("I've been called away" sounds soooooooo pompous. Yes: The White House called. They want a "second opinion".) (I got a second opinion: FU. There's yer second opinion...) (hope I didn't get you thrown off the site...)
Where did I come up with this? Same place as usual... That 5th cup of coffee... 🤣
Seriously, I've had this in mind for some time, and it's gone through more changes than Walmart has through toilet paper the last week. Now, I just need to find a way to work this epidemic of stupid into the story.
Oh, I have a 'second opinion' for them - but it would probably result in people in black cars paying me a nocturnal visit, so I shall just keep it to myself... 🤔🙄😁
What a brilliant put together, Big Bro! You are definitely putting that masterful Photoshop works in use. :-)
I look forward to each of your story telling renders and this is superbly done
Hope the girls are up to the task, looks like its gonna get crazy!
An excellent work on this sequence Rod, great effort ! :) And I laughed at your text part on Michael and content... It was exactly the same here, during a very long time lol. Finally got the figure, but nothing to use with it lol. A matter of priorities I guess :) .
Great!!!!
What shall I say else than that your images are all amazingly done!
'Whew'!!!! Totally amazing story lines, and awesome dark. and eerie, and mysterious, images Rod!!! I LUV this!!!!!! I can't wait to see what happens next!!! You are an amazing artist Rod.....keep up the good work!! I likey very MUCH!!!
