Description
Great tit on a nest of processionary caterpillars.
Pine processionary caterpillars form large nests in trees. They are voracious, and can gradually kill the tree. In addition, they are dangerous for humans and for pets, because when they are worried, they can throw stinging hairs harmful to the eyes or if we breathe near their passage. Fortunately, the tits love to eat these caterpillars! Here she is doing her caterpillar meal!

I remember, as a child, my adult family using flaming wads of newspaper, to burn worm nests from pecan trees.
We can learn much from Nature, by better observance of its work. "tent" caterpillars cause much damage to host plants, with few enemies before they become moths.

Amazing nature shot !!
bien
Very beautiful capture!!!
Wonderful capture and interesting description, there are enough to make a good meal !!!
Wonderful capture of Nature at work...if humans would only allow her to do it unhindered by all the noxious junk we throw at it.
magnifique capture, Jean-Claude !
Great capture !
Excellent!
Great capture.
Excellent! Je vois que tu sais être patient!
I don't think that I ever saw such a caterpillar nest in nature. Your explanation is very interesting and your capture excellent as always, Jean-Claude. I wish you happy Easter days.
Excellente macro !
The pictures of the birds are always great to see my friend. Wish you a Happy Easter
Great take
Great capture and information, Jean-Claude!
Beautiful capture.
Wow, stunning capture my friend!!!
Fantastic shot of my Favorit Bird. Wonderful done, Jean-Claude.
Natures way of checks and balances! magnificent photo!
