Some very early fireplaces, love the age of them Incredible captures and great info attached to them JC. 5++
Beau montage documentaire
Never saw them before. Great catch!
Awesome to see they kept the real stuff to the castle. Beautiful and great picture
Wow! Those are some ancient looking fireplaces! Excellent photos!
outstanding historical fireplaces
Great captures!
None of us would make it if we had to live back then - we are too soft lol Very interesting captures my friend!!!
Great capture.
Interesting captures of these old fireplaces, though I don't understand why you call the one on the left as a "ceremonial" fireplace. Where I come from, as in Europe, old mansions had fireplaces such as this one, though certainly not as old (and maybe that's why it's called "cereminal"?), in all living quarters. Do you know exactly how the one on the left was used?
This fireplace is located in a large living room of the castle (ceremonial room, in french: salle d'apparat)) where were the receptions with prestigious guests, noble...
Interesting old time, great photo!
Very interesting shot !!
Awesome
It is hard to believe that food was cooked in the kitchen on such a hearth. Well, on the other hand, the other fireplace is actually quite ordinary. Even today it is not uncommon to have such a fireplace in the living room. Fantastic collage, Jean-Claude.
