From the Japanese garden we visited with Mark all those years ago.
I hope you enjoy the memories of that day as much as I do, Mark! There's something special about Japanese gardens, and this one was particularly inspiring. As I recall, it had been moved one piece at a time in order to save it from development. The amount of care and effort it must have taken to relocate that garden rock by rock and plant by plant must have been epic.
May your year be effortless, my friend, with no new challenges, and only the memory of the tough work behind you.

I'm still in "retirement," so I'm not commenting except for exceptions, so forgive me for only doing this image tonight. But I love your dedi to Mark---who's wholly deserving---and the first image is rich and lush (which, knowing you, you mean to evoke Mark), and your beautiful memory, and your description of him in person. Beautiful words and feelings. This image reminded me of one of those 'rock art' pieces where the artist balances rocks in near-impossible ways....don't know if this is that, but it's beautiful, and your light is golden and reflective, and the softness in the background lets the rock-piece stand out beautifully. The composition also brings the rock-piece to light. Beautifully done, and a big "ditto" to your words for Mark. My heart goes out to him, and I wish him all the healing in the world. Very good work...the scene puts mwe into a Japanese garden and the peace of structure sand form. Thank you for this. I am sure the dedication to mark is highly appreciated.
My favorite part of the garden. Your images have reminded me of Elda Behm and her garden and how the people of Seattle came together to save it. I also remember our lunch together where we sat near a meeting of the Red Hat Society. Thanks for the pleasant memories.
