Thanks to you and Bill for posting these images. This wasn't there when I last visited D.C. The artist has done some stunning work. You can see fear, fatigue and alertness in this face, desperately trying to find danger before it finds him.

A closeup reveals the palette-knife markings and the metal coming through on the sculpture. It gives a lot of life to the it. It also brings out the fatigued expression. These 4 shots are very powerful, and they zoom in on what I presume is one of the very powerful aspects of this collection: The wariness and fatigue of soldiers at war. Also, the white sky on top is a fine balance to all the detail below...Really poignantly done.
