Description
This picture was taken from the Gate House, the House of the Caretaker of the Funerary Rock. The sprawling grassy area in the middle of the picture is the Central Plaza, which divides the Ceremonial Sector of Machu Picchu on the left from the more mundane Residential Sector on the the upper right and the Industrial Sector on the lower right.
The larger of the two peaks behind the Central Plaza is Wayne Picchu. This 2720 m peak with ladders, caves and a small temple can be climbed in 45 to 90 minutes, but the steep steps are slippery when wet. A permit must be purchased for this climb
BTW, that guy in the picture is me. I didn't realize I had that much junk hanging around my neck and it must have gotten warm climbing to this point.
This picture was taken on 26 August 2014, Sig..

Wow, what a view! And it is great to see you at last, Sig!
That is just fantastic!
This isn'y the usual tourist photo. Here we get an idea of the extreme heights in this place. And you made it to the top without incident. Good work. I don't know who took the photo, but this must be the best one I've seen. Glad to see more of this place. Keep up the good work! :-)
