I was scanning the latest page of uploads in the photography gallery & this one really stood out from the rest & I immediately thought it was either Tara or Bill. Not that your photographic styles are EXACTLY the same, but you both have a similar way of approaching a shot in a way that treats light as the subject & you both do it in a very subtle, sensitive way. This is a classic example of that, with very deep black shadows & filtered sunlight illuminating just the right amount of detail. I've been in redwood forests that look just like this & you've captured the serenity & wonder of the experience beautifully...

An illuminating image - it says so much, and inspires me even more (to take long walks through a forest !) - but there is nothing like this where I live; therefore I think I'll settle for drooling at this enchanting and enticing fairyland... fine capture and POV, Tara.

I love the perspective. This is a wonderful place and the light gives it so much mystery ... It feels like being in a tale, just waiting that suddenly, something ''happens''....! You gave magic to this place:) Marvelous textures and wonderful green tones!
"If you go down to the woods today, you'd better not go alone..." :-) I've been looking at this photo frequently (on your desktop) and loving its inviting path. Although I can't walk on that path, my eye can and does with delight.
Prime example of your way with chiaroscuro. As you know, the word originally meant "clear, obscure" (not "light/dark"). Dark being the obscure side of life, mysterious, hidden. Your darks are mysterious and hidden, and pregnant. And the light brings out the mystery of giants lurking in the forest. That's what this communicates. And given that these are redwoods, the mystery is all the more poignant. Beautifully done all around.
