Description
I started this piece with pictures from an abandoned church near Maria's (CavalierLady) home in Texas, and added from there. I rarely have a finished image in mind when I start, and with this one I only wanted to create something for Mark's birthday. I do like how it turned out! :)
Mark, I can't begin to tell you how much I have valued our friendship over the years. I'm glad you know, because I would be hard-pressed to try and start from scratch explaining it! My life is immeasurably richer for knowing you. My list of "those most dear" has contained your name for a very long time, and I look forward to basking in your loving friendship for many years to come.

All photography in this piece is mine, blended in Photoshop CC 2015. It contains about a dozen images, mostly from Texas, with a bit of Alabama, Louisiana and Washington thrown in.

This is such an overpowering, and pure art, my friend, with anywhere surprising light elements, and so many special effects you've created. It is like a very large range of gifts for our friend Mark. I'm sure Mark's mouth drops open when he sees this (in full size). :D
Well now, this is something special. Mark will love it. I know this Mark loves it. Max zoom is a must or you will miss the tiny details. The teal sky with horses galloping past the moon is by itself worth the price of admission. Outstanding work, Tara, and just perfect for Mark.

And i see the light of night and the day light together...! I love the flood that you created! When it goes, the ''soil'' is prepared to receive new things...and the moon and the horses galloping is beyhond words;makes me think about dreams but also in a goal to reach out . There is a feeling of renewal everywhere in this image and it seems that 'outside/inside' are connected. Your words and image makes a very meaningful whole. Love the comments you got here, and the piece is massive and epic. It really does feel like the world is washing away darkness to create a new vision, a new spirit, a new day. The church is transformed into something primal and new, and very mysterious; with a feeling that some kind of new age is about to dawn. (And I don't mean "new age" in the popular sense; but of a more genuine time to come, something truly renewing...Ana expressed that very well.) As always, your blends are masterful, with the walls being articulated with both decay and new process; the light flowing in like rivers; the waters absolutely washing away an old way of life; the big vaulted ceiling (which looks like something you got from a big city) fading into that primal night; the beautiful moon; those beautiful ghost-like horses---some of which are galloping on clouds---your beautiful way with branches-as-sinews which give melody lines to the piece; and the sense of something big shining behind the door and windows. The water even washes through the balustrades...A big beautiful vision: It's so great to see you do these montages again---and it's a beautiful gift for my birthday, a night vision that speaks of a splendid morning to come. And I really like the video you linked us to: It's about the church of one's heart and home too (though the song has some more sinister elements to it, as well)---and btw, that dancer did a beautiful job; I love how he brings ballet-moves into that modern dance and song.
As for what you wrote, thank you so much Tara, I was very moved by what you said, and I know how sincere it is, and you know I return all your feelings to you. This is a beautiful birthday gift, and I'm very grateful you did this for me, and shared it with everyone else. What mike said of me applies to you more: This is a perfect example. Amazing composition...so much to see
This one is of epic proportions, there is so much to discover, so much detail - I have taken time over this one to describe what I am seeing, it's mindboggling... I am trying to visualize what Chipka would have made out of this image ? most likely written another book on it, it is so rich in an apocalyptic sort and sense of a way. There is a special, but a haunting treat for my eyes, which I really like - where the horses running wildly through those tree branches and water, along the top of the balustrading, will they risk the jump ? taking the leap for survival or not ? - ingenious! ...and to sum it up, this must be a marvel for Mark's eyes, more like a feast, which gives and goes on forever and ever... giving him such pleasure ! also, not to forget the precious words you wrote for your friendship with him.
