A brilliant evocation of your theme (una brillante evocazione del vostro tema)...this is exactly how humans 'veil' themselves from other humans, via cyber-media, via the web, via Facebook, via text-messaging (messaggistica di testo), etc. Cyberspace creates the illusion of closeness, but it can also create veils and veils and more veils. And your image shows that brilliantly. Your human beings, here, are made of maglie (right word?), rete (mesh, nets), rather than flesh. And they are standing inside big beautiful cold crystals---in a "hall of mirrors". I don't know the right words in Italiano, but it means a room filled with so many mirrors, you cannot tell where you are---because everything is a reflection of something else. There is no "reality" in that hall.the room, in other words. It's nothing but mirrors...
Your people, here, stand inside of big glass crystals: They look beautiful in there, but they are trapped in there, imprigione, and they don't know how to get out...As always, you rendered this with beautiful light and reflections, and beautiful hues: Your blues are the color of memory; you have green-yellows, which feel almost "jaundiced" (itterico); and those tall beautiful crystals---which imprison these people. The people are viewing the world through glass. They don't touch each other or the air...
And you have your sea behind them...a common image in your work. They are on the 'shores of time'---Ie, it's ancient as well as contemporary. Beautifully done, Giuliano. A deeply intuitive portrait of the prisons and ironies of cyber communication...
