Dynamic Cloth at last in Carrara! I have been testing the newly available (and still being developed) Virtual World Dynamics plugin which has a recent interface from Carrara. You can use it to turn virtually any item of clothing into fully dynamic cloth, and also prop and conforming hair into a dynamic hair model. All very exciting! You can see my initial tests here: https://youtu.be/n9LkxfJzqjY My video first shows a dress becoming dynamic, then a conforming hair and finally a sequence with both at once. I have included the initial drape phase so that you can see it - in an actual project, you would start rendering from the first actual pose and not the default T-pose. I have used a higher resolution still as the image above, but you really need to see the video to appreciate what is going on. As you can see it works very well, most of these use the default settings and could be improved with further adjustments to both the animations and the cloth, but hey - working dynamic cloth in Carrara!! There is more discussion of it on a thread over on the Daz Carrara forums. All of these were rendered with the Octane Render for Carrara plugin, taking only a few seconds to render each frame, which with soft shadows, full global illumination and camera depth of field is just terrific.
