Good morning everyone,
The weather here in northeast Texas has been in the 70’s with lots of sunshine for the past week so I kept my new camera handy whenever I was outside. Last night we got a couple of inches of rain and more of the same is expected for the next 5 days or so with highs only in the 50’s. That means I will mostly be indoors but I did manage to get a decent bird shot Sunday while it was nice outside.
I am pretty sure this is a Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) and I only got one shot before it flew off. It stayed in one place for several minutes but kept it’s back turned towards me. Just before it flew off, it turned it’s head sideways and I took the shot.
I rather liked the image but it needed some contrast and level adjustments so I played with it just a bit (well maybe a little more than just a bit), lol.
I couldn’t decide which I liked the most so I decided to do a compilation of different adjustment results. Hope some find it interesting.

I know the feeling waiting to get the shot and the thing won't turn around or move from behind a leaf. For what it's worth I like the top and bottom shot with the bottom on in first place if thats the correct colour for the little chap.

Are you trying to Shoot a Mockingbird? (with a Camera) Not to Shoot a Mockingbird (with a Gun) as in To Kill a Mockingbird a novel by Harper Lee Great capture! nice playing with the adjustments it is so nice to be able to do this with Computers now!
