Description
I am still learning to use the Fugi Finepix S9900W bridge camera I got for Xmas. It has a 50x optical zoom but so far, I have not been able to get a clean sharp image from it at any focal length. The images don't look terrible when reduced in size to post but at full size the noise and softness are very visible. I have tried to improve on them with a fair amount of digital manipulations. I softened all the backgrounds to help create the illusion of sharpness in the main subject and lots of fine tweaking of contrast and levels.
Here is the latest result. It was taken today at a distance of 40' with a 135mm equivalent focal length of 600mm.

So irritating when the camera won't do as you ask! A lovely bird.
It's a lovely bird and a good shot, the trouble with super zooms is that there is often a trade off on image quality if you get the chance try one of the Fuji X cameras they are interchangeable lens jobs and you can get adapters for other makes of lens.
