Description
Today was quite pleasant outside. Lots of sun, not much wind, and temps in the 60’s. I decided to take advantage of it and try my new Fugi Finepix S9900w bridge camera. I have never owned a camera capable of reaching far enough to get many bird shots. This new camera has a 50X optical zoom and it far exceeds anything I have tried before.
I am still trying to adjust to several new methods - the use of a tripod is an example of this. I also have been a bit disappointed with image quality when shooting medium sized birds from about 70 - 80’ away. This seems to be as close as I have managed to get and the resulting images are less than pin sharp, lol. I need to set up a feeder so they will venture closer.
Any way, all I managed to shoot (that were savable) were a few images of a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. No award winning shots but much better results than I have able to do pre-Fugi.

A pretty good shot using a long lens, you are going to have to use that tripod or use a faster shutter speed if you want to get it sharper , if you use a tripod you might also use a remote shutter release if your camera can take one ,I look forward to seeing more of your pic's. The bird looks very much like one of our woodpeckers.
