all of the forefathers that migrated to the US from Europe were all illegal aliens. they never had visas from the Native Americans.
A Mexican friend of mine (deceased) was in the US without proper papers and some people would call him a "wet back". he would politely ask "where are you from? they would say which state. He would then ask"where did your grandfather come from" and did he have proper papers?. they would say for an example Europe. my friend would respond that he only crossed a river, but your grandfather crossed an ocean , so you are much more of a "wet back" than me
