Glory perhaps for the state, as mentioned by a few others. That said, had I been around to fight in World War 2, a chance to help end Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan would be glory enough.
War and conflct is what comes of when we lose the battle within ourselves of rising above the animal. What I finally truly frightening among today's thinking is the idea of be true to one's nature. I cringe everytime I hear that sort of talk. There is nothing worse than a human who is settles on just being what they are by nature instead of battling to rise above that nature and be better than what they are by nature.
