...it's a long walk to that waterhole, and the baby needs a little reassurance along the way.
Another in my spate of old, old renders from Bryce that ought to be in my Renderosity gallery but aren't. Rendered on a G3 Mac that ran at 400Mhz, and I still rendered it at a 3200 pixel width.

Heh, you just reminded me, by using the word "posing", about the making of this images. Posing the two elephants with their trunks entangled like that took AGES, it was even harder than posing a couple of Poser humans holding hands. Since I know real elephant families wrap their trunks together like this I wanted to capture it.
Sadly now the WWF informs us that Africa's elephants are being killed by poachers faster than they are able to breed. Somehow we must try top stop the outrageous trade in ivory, before we lose these magnificent creatures forever.

Thank you folks, this one seems to have been noticed a bit more than any of my previous posts to the galleries. I'm glad I made the effort to pose those trunks like that instead of giving up when it got difficult.
