Description
These aren't the most exciting drawings--but they were my first "stipple": the art of drawing in dots. It's tedious, and requires real patience; but it teaches you a lot about contour, shading, etc, because you piece-together an image one dot at a time.
I post them to show my first efforts (years ago). My later stipples are gone, either to clients or time and wear...
The grain in the top image was from an old photo. I didn't postwork it out...

Amazing work! I really like the burgers. I can't even imagine the patience it takes to do one of these.
These really are wonderfully detailed stippled drawings.That hamburger meat texture is amazing. I don't think I've ever done this technique, but I can imagine it takes a lot of patience.
WOW! I have never seen the first one before. I really love it. Must have taken ages to do but you did it perfectly. Looks fabulous. The lower one looks like one i have seen before, but i know you sometimes are drawing things twice which is something we can learn alot from. I love them but I dont know if it is Pawns or Cookies or like GrandmaT said, Burgers :-) What ever they are, they are mighty well done :)
I did enough of this style in the 1970s to give me a healthy respect for those of you who are so good at it. It was fun, but as you say, tedious. These are very well done; you must have a huge space to archive all your older works!
I have done some of that in my time and your right it requires much patience Mark you did really great on these pieces well done!!

These images made me go looking for work by Ron Cobb and R. Crumb. There is something so 1960s about these, a feeling or texture. I'm not sure how else to describe it. Outstanding work, your patience is admirable if not epic.

Beautiful work and a lovely presentation of them. That looks like a lot of work one dot at a time but the effect looks wonderful. Very well done.
Surprisingly, I did but one piece of stipple art in all of my years in the field of art, and that was of a baseball mitt and ball. And that was with a hard 7H pencil. As Denise remarked, it is really tedious work. That said, stipple is a good training ground for the effects you mentioned above. I recognize the lamp, books, table, and window you so painstakingly stippled at the top, but can't decide what that is at the bottom......possibly a waffle iron, which I doubt, a pancake maker with the pancakes, or hamburgers amidst several buns.
Never had the patience to do anything like this. This is Very COOL!!!
those on the bottom look like cookies to me. now I am hungry. I have never tried the art of dots. you make it look easy with really great results
