your "wildest way," but your way to the core. Gorgeous! An explosion from the center of the earth---or, better, from the center of the flower, as in the deep atomic center, as in that's where all flower-dom is created. It explodes into your canvas, and the slippery expansive nature of your inks are the transport that take you there. It’s like all the swirls and energies of your earlier plant work have thrown off the actual 'plants' and expressed themselves as themselves. Mind you, this has lots of floral imagery, but it’s like the inner life of a flower, let loose upon the cosmos. Scientists who study the possible-histories of the cosmos should feel at home with this: It shows that, at the level of process, the artist and scientist are siblings, even if their knowledge and training are different.

The green layer---bottom 3d of the painting---is just bubbling with molten plant life, and your ink's interaction with the surface makes tons of colonies which explode and collide into each other. And this ‘green’ part has all kinds of greens and yellows with a few browns and purples thrown in to the party...Then the next section---going upwards---is like cells of flowers bursting to get loose; or mineral deposits finally freed from the earth. Your bulb-shapes and droplets really gurgle and shove to get free, there. And then the upper portion: It’s like the petals are pure energy---Georgia O’Keeffe would love this piece---with a stamen area like a set of eastern icons (ie, buddhas and krishnas), with flaming head-dresses to boot. And the petals whoosh out into space. And there’s a big blob to its left (our right) that’s like another creature making its way into existence, wonderful tentacles and stalks and god-knows-what. And your background---don't wanna leave that out!---pulses with geologic forms, like enhanced satellite imagery of the earth. It’s a small piece---in zoom, it still feels small compared to the power inside it---but you managed to pack, like, the first several billion years of cosmic evolution into it. Even the leaves and tentacles on the bottom have real energy. Magnifique! Amazing, Carol. They really should register you with NASA and the the National Science Foundation: This art is something straight out of the heart of stellar exploration and modern astrophysics. Whoa do I love this. Bravo!!!

Mark, just loved your comment, that exploded with great imagery and energy. I did try to pack a few 'billion years of cosmic evolution' into this wild flower. As I was building the layers of ink, the flower just kept evolving, with a will of its own. And all I could do was watch it. Flowers really do affect me in the most amazing ways, especially artistically. I mean there is just so much inside of them to explore. An endless universe. I think some alien seeds were flying around and somehow found their way into this painting. I'm actually planning on doing a series of these Wild Flowers, and only the gods know what I'll be growing next. Thanks so much for your inspiring and very entertaining comment, Mark.
