Description

Come with me if you dare on a fantasy under the sea don't be scared explore open your eyes see more under the sea there is a world of wild beauty mystery and infinite possibility. Under The Sea prose by Carol Cavalaris © Credits: This is my first attempt at alcohol ink painting. Crazy, huh? I made a background with inks, using various colors and getting very organic shapes and textures. Then I brought it into Photoshop, painting the final image, turning it into a mixed medium piece. I don't have a clue what I'm doing with alcohol inks so I'm just playing around exploring the possibilities. This bit of insanity, that has a bunch of critters hidden within, will be part of my Organica Collection. Hope you enjoy. :o) CC Copyright Notice: My images do not belong to the public domain and may not be used for any purpose without my permission. Eeeeeyowwwwww! I LOVE this, Carol! You say you don't have a clue what you're doing with alcohol inks? Well your inner EYE has a clue, and it's having a huge carnival with all its friends! Zowie! I don't have time to do this justice right now---I was about to sign off when I saw you'd uploaded, and wham: I saw this! People have to zoom this---you not only got a teeming underwater street-fair, but you created a 3 dimensional carving. I mean, it's kind of a bas relief, only it has a collage quality...and your textures and crevices and caverns, and all the real and possible creatures in it, and the primal forms, etc, just make this an underwater Carnevale. This is a Carol work, 100%---only, all your forms and swirls and waves and forces and creatures are taking a huge coffee break, drinking ouzo and hanging out with their fish friends. Whatever those inks are doing to you, pay them, tell them to stick around---you'll keep 'm on retainer, whatever it takes---and keep doing it! Carol depth and intensity dancing at 3 a.m. and yelling opah!!! I'll say more soon, but this is wonderful. I love this!!!

Thanks for the 'Eeeeeyowwwww!'. Have to say, Mark, your comment really made me laugh. I truly needed some comedy relief from my massive insecurity over this alcohol ink orgasmatron. I liked that you saw the Carnivale in it. I had a good time drinking ouzo and hanging out with my fish friends, so I guess it showed in this image. :o) I'm trying to just let the ink flow (most of it is getting on my hands) and hang on for the wild ride, not really knowing where it will take me. A very different experience for me. I almost didn't post this but I'm glad I did, because you gave me hope that I'm not totally insane for trying this medium. Don't know where it will lead but hey, it won't be boring.
