Firehole River
Yellowstone National Park
Just downstream from Firehole Falls, the water runs swift and deep. There was a great viewpoint up on the cliff surrounded by a solid, heavy wooden fence. Only the lens of my camera was outside the safety perimeter. :)

Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic lively recording from your dangerous trip. Anyway, it looks dangerous to me, and I would have seen you by standing that high on that wooden, maybe slippery place, taken this outstanding picture, Tara. Asking myself by looking at it, if there is snow on that branch.
Beautiful view Tara! Wish you could have uploaded the sound of rushing water and smell of the pine trees as well. Mountain streams and rivers are infinitely prettier than what we have in our neck of the woods.
I see water sprites, LOTS of water sprites. did you see them, too? Nice capture of them! Very nice photo. I, too, feel the risk of slipping and falling in. It's a good drop. A pity Rendo doesn't include sound - that would have been the ultimate experience! Keep up the good work! :-)

I like the rich, deep greens & browns & the way they contrast with the white foam. One of those "makes you feel like you're right there" shots...
I love the shine of the white tops of the water. Yes - you do not want to fall in there! I laughed at your title - Don't look down - That is what they told me when I did skydiving quite a number of years ago - Don't look down - as I was hanging on the wing strut about to let go. Gosh - of course you are going to look down - it's a human thing to do! Scared me to no end, but hey, I jumped!

oooh, splendid capture of the rush and whoosh of a river. Like your other closeups, it takes us into a small section, where that section becomes everything. Love the framing of trees on one end and a fallen branch on the other. Plus the varied hues of the water. Terrific shot. Immediate and constantly electric...
