Already the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said: "Why seek far afield when the good is so close?" So I took a walk through the district of Heidelberg in which I live. This photo was taken 500 meters from my home.

Wo er Recht hat, hat er Recht 8=) Das sieht ja richtig ländlich aus, da kann man's aushalten - eine Werbung für Heidelberg! Der Kirchturm ist super, ganz anders gebaut als unsere hier in Nordbayern.

Goethe was right ! You needn't travel that far to see marvels and wonders in faraway countries, it is just a question of opening one's mind and eyes where we live. This wonderful view makes me think of the villages we can see in the Black Forest and neighbouring Elsass : you live in a gorgeous area, full of traditions.

it is often said that people go to other places to view beautiful things, but never visit places at home. I suppose when people see the things day after day they become mundane . there is an old joke about Monterrey, Mexico. a tourist tells a local that he is so lucky to live in such a beautiful place(mountains). the local asks what is beautiful here? the tourist replies the mountains surrounding the city . I use to go there 2-3 times a year before the city became so dangerous. I see beauty in the architecture and atmosphere. just as this city capture of yours
