Description
Shown inverted this time, captured 12/13/14, on the main street off of my congenial condominium complex. The mate was nowhere to be seen.
My sole purpose for these photographs was to show the sole of the shoe. That said, I never moved or touched the object at any time. This is the way I found it.
Have a nice day.

LOL... amazing capture and great shadows !
Makes you wonder where on Earth its partner ended up. Nice catch. I imagine that there's many times more sole patterns than manhole covers; but even each one can be even more unique too.
The shadows casted by these shoes look much like "wings". There is also a tennis shoe brand that uses "wings as their company emblem. Nice photo.
It's amazing to me the number of abandoned shoes and gloves that you find in your perambulations, Harry; I would expect that if someone lost a shoe it would be immediately apparent! That being said, what excellent reportage in these excellent captures of the forlorn and lonely shoe, Harry; fantastic light and shadowplay and tons of detail in the shoe and pavement also.
Harry, this is a nice photo and I agree that you seem to stumble upon a lot of abandoned shoes.
I wonder if someone will comeback and claim it? Interesting find. Aloha
this pair hit me as hard as that plant shot I just commented on---I was lying in bed, saw this, and almost jumped to my feet. I agree with denise, it's not just in the shoe itself, it's in the light and shadow and texture of the pavement. The pavement's electric. It's pulsing. Esp at full size. You got the shoe facing down, so we do see the "upper" (the side showing) but in shadow. Which plays dramatically against all that white. And the bottom is so bleached by the sun. With blue on white. So it's just a solo shoe, but with that electrified pavement and the contrasts on the shoe itself, it's a popping pair of images and very exciting to me. And the stray lace seems so forlorn, like a dying snake...glad you included it. Love this duo. And btw (ala denise), Seattle may not have as many of these items on the street, because I imagine these are most common in huge cities. (Leave my neighborhood, you see everything in the streets, shoes being some of the most tame.) It's just a huge city phenomenon. I forgot to say---the "sole" bit was funny. And if you didn't touch the shoe, you did fine work getting its 'soul' with its face turned down and in shadow. Not an inviting position to work with---kudos!
