Description
Another shot taken during our afternoon at Pacifica. This was a fairly large mushroom - probably about 8 inches across - & I thought it looked a little like a blossoming flower...

Excellent find :D
You title made it sound like one of those chef specials in a posh restaurant!
A very nice find and a 'mush zoom'.
Beautiful!
It does seem to have petals; what a beautiful find and capture!
I thought it looked like Prawn crackers on a Chinese dish with julienne carrot strips! Great find and shot!
Excellent color comp.!
Elegant and beautfiful composition
Splendid colors and contrast in this image of the fungi sitting upon the colorful bed of needles. And, with pepper on top.
Very cool capture now I'm hungry
It appears smaller - very interesting shape - great capture!!!
Awesome capture!
Lol, Andrea---it does sound like a delicate dish in a posh restaurant. But your treatment makes it feel like a delicate dish in a forest. The mushroom blows out like flower petals, and the black markings (or soot maybe) are like seasoning. The surrounding needles are so orange and bright, they could be carrots or some other delicately carved vegetable. A delectable presentation, and zoom is a must. It bursts alive in zoom, and shows your vision fully. Beautifully done, Claude.
An amazing growth pattern, a great find, must zoom and lovely photo!
