Description
I took this while walking around the pond at Pacifica. There were lots of intact catttails (they may be known in British English as bulrush, or reedmace, in American English as cattail, catninetail, punks, or corn dog grass, in Australia as cumbungi or bulrush, in Canada as bulrush or cattail, and in New Zealand as raupo), but I liked this one that had burst open to reveal it's internal structure of thin filaments...

Super pic on a super background.
Beautiful
Very nice!
Beautiful picture, great poses and composition. Excellent
Excellent macro!
Stellar clarity, color and lighting in this terrific macro of the cattail with a bad, I mean a real bad, hair day.
This is beautiful! I've seen them starting to shred, but nothing so dramatically glorious as this!
Stunning against that rich blue, I love seeing these up close!
I'll be back for more later in the day (I woke up a little while ago), but I wanted to say that this is a wonderful way of presenting this beautiful heavily-wrought spun-fiber plant, like cotton candy for the plant-world...you highlighted the golds and yellows very strongly, you brought out the ghost-like strands next to the stem (making them like bits of fine lace), and you gave it all a deep blue background which sets-off the yellows and golds beautifully. The mood is a deep indigo night mood, but the 'night light' here is this big burst-of-a-plant, having a bad hair day, while not realizing that it's natural hair is beautiful all by itself; and in this light, it's a goddess. Scintillating work once more, Claude. Your gallery is always a revelation.
Nice job.
Superb capture!
it is beautiful, I like especially how you worked the colors, very special contrast.
Very interesting capture and I don't think that I haven seen one that has been pulverized this bad!
