Description

All right babes, recabled everything now i have 4 harddisks with a storage capacity of 8,5 terrabyte lol.,who the f*** needs this??.BIOS recognised all HDDs.the rest of the job will take a lot of time but i can sit and relax in my chair, doing the appropriate breaks.no rush now. Probably a fresh windows 7 install, depends of if Acronis can install the backup of the system disk from last month that way i dont have to do all the update crap etc........ this morning i have to pick up the vaccine for my anti flu shot in the pharmacy and this afternoon the doctor will pass it into my venes.life goes on ,and sh** people i love my brainzz muahahahahahahah. 08:07AM-starting GPARTED Live CD.made some partitions but not all. 09:24 Taking the bus to echternach picking up the vaccine and do some light groceries buying. 10:30AM back home giving the wifey a kiss (lol) 11:00AM Crap,i installed win-dumb7 to the wrong drive. 11:20AM -running Ultimate boot for rectifying, you know that in a pc shop i would already have paid hundreds of dollars and all my data would have vanished, the “specialist”would tell the old man that a virus has sucked up his data, not with the”Doc”lol. 12:31PM again error messages bad sectors on old HDD cloning not possible. 12:31PM Partition manager cannot use disk higher than 2TB Again trying to install Win7 on another partition waiting....waiting.-waiting.we will have lunch,to use the time windows need to expand its installation files (crap), 13:12PM Windows7 installed with basic features, now comes the time consuming bit, lol. 14:40PM still blocking and crashing, slowly but surely this goes to my nerves. 14:50PM deleted the wrong partition with daz4 installed,i can clone from my other machine hopefully,we will see.I will loose a couple of old scenes, this is the first time ever that i loose data. 15:10PM Copying my relevant and important files manually to the new HDD,after that i can delete the old drives and format the complete crap. 20:00PM Up and running all has been copied manually and shifted over to the desired location.tomorrow i will start installing all my applications. This time i lost a few files, not so very important, old daz scenes and such, but all the packages i bought are there,i copied the daz4 installation over to the PC2 and i just have to install daz4 into the folder and i am up again. I will shut down the machines for now,as this time the operations sucked the force out of me. 00:56Am Mofo gives me a disk read error, now after 3 reboots its ok,that was the reason i bough a new hd,i had to do this before over the last weeks, and this was not good for me nerveeeez, now i ask myself ,when i have to do this again,if the whole crap was worth it. Quintessence of this story is : a computer helps you solve problems, wich you would never have without one,and babes, never touch a running system, and don't ever install a 3TB harddisk into a system wich is 5 years old, unless you are looking for trouble and excitement – lol . I should have known better. I should have known better with a Comp like you, That I would boot everything that you do; and I do, Hey, hey, hey, and I boot. Whoa, oh, I never realized what a hard-Disk could be, This could only happen to me Can't you boot, can't you boot That when I tell you that I boot you, oh, You're gonna say you boot me too, Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, oh And when I ask you to start up, You're gonna say i'm gonna crash So oh I should realized a lot of things before If this is Boot'in you've got to start me up start me up, hey hey hey, start me up Whoa, oh, I never realized what a hard-DISK could be, This could only happen to me Can't you boot, can't you boot That when I tell you that I BOOT you, oh, You're gonna say you BOOT me too, Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, oh And when I ask you to start up, You're gonna say you BOOT me too You boot me too, you boot me too, you boot me too i just played a bit with a couple of words!!!!original Lyrics by Lennon & McCartney.

Rene, it keeps you from the street, but you will grow 10 times faster in age. You want too much, keep it simple. Backups? What good are they, you live by the day. Did you ever go through that old crap you made years ago? I don't, so I dump everything after a few monthts. But I have had this kind of problems before, so I can imagen what you are going through. Succes.

love the song... new lyrics work... a few years ago, I bought a new hard drive to add to one of my Mac g5's.. followed the instructions, looked on yousless tube... seemed simple enough... done this before on a couple of g4's every thing hooked up according t plan...... damn thing wouldn't recognize the new drive... tried everything...figured the drive was hatched... took the drive back to the dealer, pimply faced kid behind the counter said I was obviously doing something wrong.. I said nope, done this before, played it all by the numbers.... I say there might be something wrong with the drive.. he gives me attitude, I say just give me another drive in exchange.... he says he won't do that... I talk to the manager... turns out pimply faced kid is manager's nephew, so he can't be wrong. but to keep me as a customer, they'll attach it to an instore g5... it doesn't work for them.... got a nnew hard drive... karma's a bitch!

The delights of electronic technology ... whatever did we do to keep ourselves occupied and amused and off the streets before Steve Jobs and the rest created the little beasties that dominate our desktops and our lives? Do we need human problems any more when we can share the pains our poor grey boxes suffer as we try to bend them to our will? We had Windows stuff at work; and never a dull day ... Like waiting for the bus - nothing for ages and then three come along together; only with the computers at work you waited for ages for an update to load and then three problems came along together! Yup; it's a laugh a bloody minute ..

The cable colors make it look like your computer is on fire! You really entertained us with your descriptives and lyrics! I hope these problems all resolve themselves and you wind up with a smooth running machine! Best of luck, Doc!

Computers! They are the favorite Major headache in our lives. Can't live without them any more and want to throw them out the window half the time. I am glad it all finally worked out without you putting your foot through the screen or blowing a major artery in your brain. Take my advice, next time you feel like "upgrading" go to the nearest golf course and watch the grass grow. It will be a lot healthier!

Oh my GOD, Doc! I'm taking a quick break at work, reading this, and your previous description of your....uh.......adventures.. Everyone is looking at me, wondering what the hell I'm looking at, because I'm about to pee my pants reading your description! I feel your pain, Brother - been there, done that more times than I care to remember, but I have never read a description as hysterical as yours! This is a masterpiece, Rene, and I humbly bow to your incredible patience! I'd have tossed the damn thing out the window by the third paragraph! LOL I have never read a funnier description of the frustrations involved in procedures like this... And those lyrics - brilliant and priceless! 10,000 stars! Very cool collage, as well!

reinstalling Windows is a pain in the a--. I just had a virus and had to reformat the drive, which did not work, so I bought a new one. Then reinstall everything. I hate it.

I've installed new HDs..First time I called Western Digital and they walked me through the process to have comp reconize..MY Win XP 32 bit has 3 drives partitioned so 6 drives, Plus two external drives for all my Poser/Daz downloads.Want to shoot my Win7 comp as not as user friendly as Win XP Only reason I upgraded was to get 64 bit..

lot of work. Yes you got to watch the pc shop. I had my screen go out and I brought it to one and he told me the hard drive was bad. i took it to another and they told me it was the light on the screen that was bad. i had them replace the light and it work from that time in till now.

Gosh, I think it's major work adding 2TB Nasa external drive to our system, let alone 8! One of Cathy's drives was as sluggish as hell and the it suddenly freed up! Must have been something really dodgy sitting there I reckon! Glad you're back to "normality" (What is normality?) Rene ;)
