Description
Wikipedia says: Solidago, commonly called Goldenrods, is a genus of about 100 to 120 species of flowering plants in the aster family. Most are herbaceous perennial species found in open areas such as meadows, prairies, and savannas. They are mostly native to North America, and a few species are native to Mexico, South America, and Eurasia. Some American species have also been introduced into Europe and other parts of the world. This photo will ZOOM and actually provides better details.
This clump of Goldenrods grows behind our home but also in an area called common ground. We do not own that land but we get complaints, from our neighbors that it causes sneezing, dripping noses and other allergic reactions. They are more than welcome to cut it down but that tends to create more allergic reactions around the area because the pollen is scattered everywhere. The goldenrods support multiple species of Bumble Bees, Honey Bees, Wasps and Hornets
This common ground area behind us is made up of hundreds of trees, tall grass areas and a small pond. It supports wild turkeys, a huge ground hog, a gorgeous orange fox, a female deer and her 2 young fawns, squirrels, chipmunks and all kinds of birds. Occasionally a black bear will wander through but not all that often.
I am so sorry that I am so far behind in my commenting. Jo's parents are settled in assisted living and their house has been cleaned out, painted, new hardwood floors, new bathrooms and appliances. It will be up for sale next week and we will be heading to Florida soon. Once in Florida I hope to get back to more postings and becoming current with my commenting.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

interessant!
This used to be a common garden plant in the UK but its not seen much now ,they are not good news for hayfever sufferers.
very beautiful flowers and a critter included!
marvellous image
Best viewed large. Nice shot and info.
Wonderful image!!!
A fine shot of these golden rod plants.I remember playing in fields of them when I was a child in Massachusetts.Allergy sufferers didn't like them, but I also remember hearing that other people would use them to make herb tea.
Fabulous capture and information
I love this plant and am encouraging it to spread in my garden, as the insects love it so much. I have no trouble with Solidago pollen, but conifers give me hell! As I live in a town famous for them I just have to use medication when nessecary then there's no problem.
Excellent shot and info Dana. No worries about commenting, we know you are very busy my friend.
You are having a busy time with the family, dear Dana. Beautiful Goldenrod... Hugs for all day. Di. xx

Great shot Dana!! Love the color! Great info!
What a beautiful spread of gold!! Lovely shot and capture. Don't worry too much about getting caught up, life comes first.
Very vibrant yellows & a couple of bees as a bonus. As a longtime hay fever sufferer myself, I prefer to see this in two dimensions on my monitor rather than in person. Good luck with your moves & house sales, Dana & thanks for the many generous comments you have left in my gallery - you're the last person who should be apologizing for falling behind...
Wonderful capture and information!!Thanks!!!!!

It's a splendid yellow, Dana, and I just love this flowers, also because off all the insects which come to visit it. Your photo is so beautiful as the flowers stand such close together, that they look a bit like yellow fireworks to me.
i used to get the leaves of the golden rods and dry them and make tea with it. may get some this year and do the same lol
