Description
by a bloomin' falcon, they were. Or at least I think it's a falcon.
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
I like the expressions on their faces, seemingly mesmerized by the whole scene, as if the bird was from another planet.
Definitely worth a ZOOM.

cool candids
Maybe it's him!
Nice try at humor, it's unappreciated, but nice try anyway.
splendid bird, splendid scene, splendid Faire !!! superb series !
I believe that's an American kestrel...and what a colourful getup for the handler! The faire looks like it was fascinating, and you have given us so many really great shots that it's almost like being there, Harry.
Happy Face... Nice shot. Aloha
Yeah!? Its a bird!!!! If you left your mobiles and Playstations alone for a while and stepped outside into the open AIR, you'd see one or two! Stupid but also slightly shocking! Fine shots mate and lovely bird! Rob
You sound pissed off, mate.
Lol, I see Rob is pissed at the spectators---like, why are they shocked when birds are all around us! (Maybe a bit pissed at the infatuation with iPhones and iPads, when there's such beauty to behold with the naked eye.) Well, the expressions are really strong crowd expressions, we do see awe and almost fear---maybe they think the fearsome bird will attack. A fine bunch on top, nice close-range shot and mixture of people, including a photographer! The bottom shot guy looks in the opposite direction---more montage-sense---and you got him in a classic smiling pose, acknowledging his audience. I've assumed, from this series, that the musicians and bird trainers are all pros, because of the way they look, their absorption in their work, and---with the trainers---from their equipment and from the natural ease with which they handle these wonderful beasts. No look of hesitation or fear about them (as there might be if an amateur held these birds). A really good shot of him, and of the people above him. Boy, you really got a lot of fine shots from this faire! (I'm lucky if I get 10 good shots from a day of shooting.)
